They could even add in an expiration date so Gmail would know when to stop highlighting the features if the promotion had ended. If you have never heard of annotations before, this feature was released back in 2018 (I could have sworn it was around longer than that.) The code snippet Google provided would give a sender the opportunity to enhance the look and feel of their email if it landed in the promotions tab by allowing them to add discount details, codes, logos, and banner images.
